Billie Jean King
Skip graduated from Linden McKinley HS in 1967, whereas team co-captain, with Jim Cleamons, he lead the Panthers to their first OHSAA State Championship, and named tournament MVP, 1st team All-State, and All-American. He played collegiately at Florida State University, were he was 2nd leading scorer, assist leader, and co-captain. Drafted in 5th round by NBA Boston Celtics, and 7th round choice of New Jersey Nets (formerly of the ABA). Due to injuries Skip created Optimum performance Training Systems for HS, Collegiate, and Professional basketball players. He later went into coaching girls basketball at Florida A&M Developmental Research School (FAMU DRS), were he lead them to the schools 1st State Championship, he went on to win a total of three (3) State Championships, Two (2) State Runner-up Titles, Seven final Four appearances, Twice named Florida Coach of the year, all within a period of eleven (11) years, prior to retiring from coaching.
